Northwest Fencing AcademyA Modern School for Medieval and Renaissance Italian Martial Arts
Wednesdays 7:00 - 8:45 pm - The Italian Renaissance produced stunning works of art that defined perceptions of beauty and skill for centuries to come, and the Art of Swordplay was no exception. Sprezzatura – an Italian word that means “doing difficult things with effortless grace” – became the hallmark of the elegant, flowing and deadly 16th Century Italian Sidesword. Considered a necessary exercise for a person of culture as well as a required martial skill for self defense, it remains one of the most beautiful and effective forms of swordplay today. We employ the art as it was employed then – a beautiful, elegant and refined style of fighting. Join us and in a few weeks we'll have you fighting in style!
